L-Theanine is a non-proteinic amino acid that influences resting state activity and increases alpha frequency, which has been associated with a reduced level of anxiety. It has been shown to promote a "relaxed, yet alert, feeling at rest" (Owen et al., 2008).
Evidence-based research has shown a variety of benefits from taking L-Theanine. It has been shown to have a calming effect when people are under physical and psychological stress, enhance attentional capacity and mental clarity, and improve overall cognitive performance. It has also been found that L-Theanine improves simple reaction time, speed of numeric working memory, word recognition, and accuracy of sentence verification.

Are there any allergens in this product?
There are NO allergens in this product.
Is the capsule made from animal gelatin?
No, these capsules are pure Non-GMO vegetable and plant materials. And rest assured we do not test on animals either!
Where is the product made?
This product has been manufactured in a certified cGMP U.S. facility in either New York or Maryland.
Do You Perform Product and Raw Material Testing?
Absolutely YES! Prior to manufacture, we test every single raw material active and inactive, to confirm the identity of each batch of raw material to be used in the finished product. This verified raw material is then lab tested for potency, microbiology, heavy metals, and residual solvents before any use in manufacturing. Finally, all finished products are tested to ensure that the potency is at least 100% of label claim, along with a second round of heavy metal and microbiological testing to make sure that the product is safe for human consumption.
What is microcrystalline cellulose? Why is it added to the supplement?
Microcrystalline Cellulose is an industry standard binding agent used in the making of foods, prescription drugs, over the counter medications, and dietary supplements. It is added to supplements as an excipient and inert substance. In fact, it is so inert it is often used as a placebo in controlled drug studies. As an insoluble fiber, microcrystalline cellulose is not absorbed into the blood stream, so it cannot cause toxicity when taken orally.
What is magnesium stearate? Why is it added to the supplement?
Magnesium stearate is used in the manufacturing of both supplements and medications as a lubricant or “flow agent” to prevent blockages in the machinery. Being used in the manufacturing process, small amounts make their way into the final product.
Magnesium stearate is found in nature and in our diet, (meat and chocolate are particularly rich sources). Bottom line, the small amount that you will actually consume from supplements or medications is considered negligible.
What is silicon dioxide? Why is it added to the supplement?
Silicon Dioxide is used in the manufacturing process to prevent the various powdered ingredients destined for the supplement from sticking together and to ensure an even distribution of ingredients in the final product. As with many food additives, consumers often have concerns about finding silicon dioxide on product labels.
However, numerous studies have found no health risks associated with silicon dioxide and the actual amount in each supplement is considered negligible.
What is hypromellose? Why is it added to the supplement?
Hypromellose, is a derivative of cellulose, (the main constituent of plant cell walls), used as eye drops for artificial tears and in supplements as an excipient. Hypromellose is a vegetarian alternative to gelatin.
